The Talent and Leadership Committee (formerly known as the Talents of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow or TTLT) is actively working to support EPCA’s vision of ensuring that the petrochemical industry attracts and retains the best talent needed to build a smart, resilient, sustainable, and inclusive world. Our work is currently centered around two key focus areas; attracting young people to study STEM and fostering leadership practices through an ESG lens.

Talent Attraction / STEM Subgroup

We are examining the challenges and opportunities EPCA members encounter in attracting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) talent. Our aim is to map the current landscape of talent attraction within the industry, pinpoint gaps, and create targeted initiatives to support companies in this vital area. While we have already started analyzing the results, the survey will remain open until 15 October. We would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete it here.

Leadership Subgroup

This subgroup is connecting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles to leadership, emphasizing ESG reporting requirements. We are set to launch a series of webinars showcasing company case studies on ESG strategies. These will be supported by sessions with an external consultant who will cover best practices, common pitfalls in CSRD reporting, and practical advice for incorporating ESG into leadership structures, with specific guidance for SMEs.

Get Involved – Make a Difference!

Whether you’re interested in STEM talent attraction, leadership development, or DEI, there’s a place for you in the TTLT! Together, we can drive meaningful change and ensure the petrochemical industry remains at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity.

DARE TO JUMP: Emerging trends in sustainable performance in times of disruption

During the Talent Session at the EPCA 58th Annual Meeting, pioneer in wingsuit flying and base-jumping, performance psychologist and author, Cedric Dumont, will share his insights into how major organizations worldwide can grow leaders at all levels by doing things differently, showing that performance comes from purpose, passion and presence.

With a compelling mix of spectacular video footage and personal experience as an adventurer and high performance psychologist he will demonstrate that skills such as dealing with emotions like fear are very transferable to any kind of environment and most of the time, what lies between us and our dreams is that same fear.

Diversity on the agenda at the 58th EPCA Annual Meeting

The TTLT is delighted to be supporting a workshop on “Unlocking the power of allyship”. The chemical industry in Europe is at a pivotal moment, and realizing the potential of greater gender balance is crucial for continued growth and innovation. This workshop will offer leaders and professionals a unique opportunity to engage in discussions on promoting gender equity in the workplace. Attendees will gain valuable insights from experts on male advocacy, actionable strategies for inclusive leadership, and opportunities to collaborate with peers, learning from each other’s successes and challenges. Don’t miss this chance to drive meaningful change in your organization!

You can still register here before 20 September 2024!

In addition to this, the Supply Chain and Logistics session on 10 October at 08:00 will explore the benefits of diversity, and how it can lead to a more resilient and thriving supply chain, with a special mention of the Women in Logistics initiative that was launched this year!

We are also looking to expand our efforts on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the TTLT Committee, with a rerun our DEI survey planned for the end of the year. If this is an area you’re passionate about, we would be thrilled to have you join our team!
